Fetichista y preciocista, obsesiva, y a veces ensimismada, la obra de Paola Celada responde a su aprecio por la belleza que se detiene en un recuerdo. Dibujante y pintora, definió su universo como una defensa de las influencias artísticas, ella decidió crear para satisfacer su placer por la versión más abigarrada y emocional de la realidad. Niñas, animales, paisajes oníricos, juegos infantiles, corazones, es el misterio de una edad suspendida, una edad de oro que se desvanece en la reinvención de la memoria. Ante la impotencia de decir todo lo que necesitaba, tomó las joyas y los relicarios de su abuela, los anudó y bordó en sus pinturas y dibujos, creando collages barrocos, la reunión insólita de esas joyas y sus propias imágenes es una obra que se acumula cada día. Colecciona, reúne, observa cada objeto que encuentra y lo recupera para años más tarde sumarlo a sus obras, eso les otorga una unicidad absoluta, no hay posibilidad de que Paola tenga dos obras iguales, cada una de ellas, como los sueños, son un espacio irrepetible.
Fetishist and meticulous, obsessive, and sometimes self-absorbed, Paola Celada’s artwork speaks to her appreciation for beauty which lingers in a memory. Drawing and painting, she defined her universe as a defense from artistic influences, she creates to satisfy her pleasure for her most alluring and emotional vision of reality. Girls, animals, dreamy landscapes, children’s play, human hearts, its the mystery of a suspended age, a golden age which fades in memory’s reinvention. Facing the impotence of saying everything that needed to be said, she grabbed her grandmother’s relics and jewels, tied them, embroidered them into her paintings and drawings, in order to create her baroque collages. That extraordinary gathering of jewelry and their images is in itself an artwork that accumulates everyday. She collects, saves, and observes every object she finds and recuperates it so that in years to come they’ll be part of a painting, this brings a uniqueness to Paola’s artwork. There is no possibility that she has the same two creations, each and every piece of work is as dreams are, unrepeatable.
